Lifestyle imagery of children and families...

I call this the lifestyle portrait series, as this session takes place in the comfort of your own home (or backyard). Comfortable and familiar, this is where your children's personalities will truly shine! Your home becomes my “studio”. The session then unfolds in a relaxed, unhurried way, over the course of a couple of hours (give or take), and the many faces of your children will be preserved for a lifetime!

Once I arrive at your home, my focus is one of slowly and carefully cultivating a connection with your children. Ensuring that they get comfortable with me on their own timetable is key to a successful photo session. During those initial adorably shy moments, priceless expressions are there for the taking, so please have your children dressed and ready to roll! Once the shyness passes, they're the boss and I am just putty in their hands!

Always a fun challenge, each session is different and unique, real and in the moment. Don't be surprised when I find my favorite spot in the most unlikely nooks of your home. Upon my arrival I usually ask for the ten-cent tour, which is often led by the young charges of the household. Since children are most photogenic when they're comfy and cozy, we may start in the master bedroom, as it's the home of the cushiest posing stool (queen or king sized!).

Let's prepare together...

It's always best to meet at my place prior to the shoot date to get acquainted, as well as discuss your goals for the portrait session. Knowing what you'd like to create as lasting keepsakes, whether it's custom framed wall art, a beautiful coffee table book or canvas gallery wraps (the list goes on), will help me cater my shooting style to your specific needs. We'll also schedule a creative consultation session (within 2 weeks after our shoot) which offers a premiere viewing of your images in a heartwarming slide show set to music. Together with my design suggestions and your personal wish list, we will create timeless mementos you'll want to hold onto. (You will want to have all who will be part of the decision-making process present at this appointment.)

What to wear...

Whether you'd like it to be a casual barefoot session or in your Sunday best, the most important thing is to plan for the look you'd like to enjoy in your keepsakes. It might help to decide which room(s) will get to sport your wall art or coffee table book. The style and color scheme of those rooms should be considered. You may want to have everyone well matched, or instead expressing individual personalities. Either way, planning is...well...a good plan, and color and pattern harmony should be your goal! Feel free to bounce your ideas off me, as that's what I'm here for!

...Looking forward!
